Provo Canyon

Difficulty: 5 of 5
Miles: 50 Provo Canyon has a pretty good dirt bike loop that starts above Vivian Park. This is a multi-use trail so your going to run into horsey riders and hikers until you get deep into forest. Much of the trail isn't for beginner or novice riders. There are very steep climes, descends and switch backs. The best way to ride this trail is to start at the parking area above Vivian Park. Start by taking trail 58. Don't attempt to ride this trail on your backwards, it's too steep and will destroy the trail. A lot of work has gone into the maintenance of these trails by several dirt bike clubs. Please be respectful. Plan on 5 to 6 hours to complete this loop. You'll have to ride your dirt bike down a section of Hobble Creek Canyon on the pavement. It's not far but know in advance. Dry Fork Trail 60 shown is a pretty steep and very rocky trail that can be accessed behind Rock Canyon on Camel Back Road. The Elevation starts about 7100 ft and gets to almost 10,000 ft by the time you get to the top. Directions: Starting at the mouth of Provo Canyon drive toward Heber for 5.6 miles. Turn right onto South Fork Rd and drive another 4.3 miles. The parking area and trail head is on the right. Map:

Want to make dirt bike riding at night as much fun as mid day? Our favorite light is the Thumper Jockey MegaLight. It's small, brighter than most stock headlights and consumes half the power. Thumper Jockey makes some of the best off road LED lights for motorcycles. Dirt bike lighting is available for motocross bikes too.
