Little Sahara Sand Dunes
Little Sahara Recreation area is a designated off highway vehicle open area Managed by the Bureau of Land Management. It features 60,000 acres of sand dunes, dirt bike trails, and sagebrush flats. Sand Mountain nearly 700 feet, is the primary focal point for hill climbing. Black Mountain, Jericho, and Cherry Creek provides a network of dirt bike trails up, over, and around mountain peaks, offering hundreds of miles of excellent trail riding for just about any kind of OHV.
White Sands is a popular camping and riding area within Little Sahara. Access to the sand dunes is within the camping grounds. There is access to Cherry Creek as well. Oasis is another camp ground within Little Sahara. It too has great access to the sand dunes as well as the Black Mountains, Sand Mountain and Jericho. Sand Mountain has camping as well right at the base of the mountain. Surrounded by sand dunes in all directions it's quite possible to get lost. There are several trails around Sand Mountain uncovering some of the biggest sand dunes in the US. Directions: Coming from the north take Santaquin Main Street exit 252 and turn West on Highway 6. Continue about 38 miles on Highway 6 and watch for the signs. If you are coming from the South take Nephi Exit 225 and turn West onto 100 North. Follow it out of town about 23 Miles to Highway 6. Cross Highway 6 and watch for the signs. Map:
